Lunch time at the Urban Farm and House! Bruschetta with tomatoes, basil and saltbush straight from the garden. Washed down with a hot cup of herbal brew, with lemon and mint also from the garden. The tomatoes self-seeded from compost, basil collected from a perennial hybrid, saltbush hasn’t been watered in months, the potted mint flourishing under a tap, and the lemon tree fed periodically by our worms, making this a VERY low effort lunch. Just pick and eat! Home grown produce alleviates pressure on existing commercial food production, reduces food miles, is healthy and satisfying, and FUN!
